NASCAR fans! This is it, the 500 mile long pinnacle race in the NASCAR Cup Series, the Daytona 500, also known as "The Great American Race". Regarded as the most important and prestigious race on the NASCAR calendar, it carries by far the largest purse. Rather uniquely, it is both the final event of Speedweeks and the Cup Series' first race of the year.
Though the race only occurs on one day of the year, there is plenty of related activity going on locally in the lead up to the big race! For additional racing, the Daytona area features plenty in the 2 weeks leading up to Daytona 500. World of Outlaws (sprint cars and late models) happens at Volusia Speedway. Modifieds, Late Models, Super Late Models, ARCA East Series (Monday night) is going on at New Smyrna Speedway. And, of course, there's lots of activity at the Big Track as well.
Our properties near Daytona Beach, Florida are ideally located near the Daytona International Speedway. We were fully booked up for the event this year, with several parties of guests staying over an extended weekend. In fact, the Speedway serves as one of the major draws to the area throughout the year, hosting events related to motorsports and non-motorsports, alike.
The next NASCAR Cup Series event in Daytona is the Coke Zero Sugar 400, to be held on August 23, 2005.
Daytona International Speedway is located at 1801 West International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach , FL 32114
